Marc joined Global in 2007 as Corporate Counsel and advises all Departments on a wide variety of domestic and international legal issues, including matters of intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, taxation, contracts and employment. He also provides advice pertaining to Global's corporate growth strategy.
Prior to joining Global, Marc spent 6 years as an attorney for international law firms White & Case LLP in New York and Ogilvy Renault s.e.n.c. in Montreal. His main focus was on multi-jurisdictional aspects of the law, representing major corporations and sovereign states in cross-border commercial disputes and advising them on international contracts and investments.
After undergraduate studies in Social Sciences at the Royal Military College of Canada, Marc went on to receive law degrees in Civil Law (LL.L magna cum laude) and Common Law (LL.B) from the University of Ottawa and achieved a Masters in International Business Law (LL.M) at the University of Montreal. He also holds an MBA from INSEAD. Marc is another culturally diverse addition to Global's ethnically diverse team; he has lived in Canada, the U.S., Asia and Europe and is fluent in English and French.
